Legal Consultant

Job Description and Requirements

Job Summary

 

Responsible for managing the clients’ IP related matters as they pertain to enforcement, litigation, client relations, such as counseling regarding their rights and obligations, offering  them advice about protection of trademarks.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

 

  • Gives legal advice to clients on issues pertaining to: trademarks, patents, copyrights, commercial laws…

 

  • Prepares and executes plans of action pertaining to counterfeits and infringements
    • Prepares submissions and complaints
    • Records trademarks with Customs
  • Attends expert hearings.
    • Assists in investigative work
    • Prepares and sends watch notices for clients
    • Drafts contracts and provides legal advice on contracts
    • Represents clients at government departments
    • Coordinates training programs vis-à-vis government agencies and clients
    • Coordinates with outsourced legal teams to ensure client needs are met
    • Supports legal needs of other Saba IP offices
    • Drafts and sends investigation reports to clients
    • Provides follow-up on on-going cases
    • Records agents and registers companies

 

 

 

  • Law degree holder from a recognized university
  • Fluent in spoken and written English and Arabic
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a similar position
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills
  • Have strong IT skills and literacy in Microsoft office packages (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
